While our experience of assurance may fluctuate, the ground of our salvation does not, because God’s promise:

1. Is not earned by keeping the law, but received by faith.
2. Does not depend on our ability, but is guaranteed by grace.
3. Is not uncertain, but secured by Christ’s work.
