God’s Strength in Our Struggle

Often, when we think of 1 Samuel, we picture David the warrior, but our study begins with a woman, not a warrior. Through her sorrow and tears, God’s sovereign strength is revealed. Through her barrenness, He provides a prophet. Through waiting and worshipping, God works in ways no one expected.

As you read 1 Samuel 1:1 – 2:11 , consider:

  • Where in your life does God feel silent? How do you need to change your view of God?
  • How do you respond when life seems unfair, unbalanced, or full of limitations?
  • Are you waiting on God with trust like Hannah, or are you growing bitter like Peninnah, numb like Eli, or self-sufficient like Elkanah?
  • What does it look like to actively trust God in your weakness?

God’s power is not just seen in great victories—it is seen in the quiet faithfulness of those who trust Him in the waiting. This Sunday, we will explore how our weakness is God’s opportunity to show His strength.

Trusting God is patiently waiting on Him.

Trusting God is actively pursuing Him.

Trusting God in our weakness is a Christian’s strength.
